INTUG welcomes Kroes’ decision on revised Relevant Markets

INTUG has welcomed Neelie Kroes' well-balanced decision on the revised Relevant Markets list, noting in particular the inclusion of the new Market 4 designed for high quality business services, which INTUG has argued strongly for in its representations.

INTUG remains concerned about the impact of removing the old Markets 1 and 2, given the continued widespread use of traditional PABX-based PSTN networks by business users, and wishes to remind NRAs that list is only a recommendation. Individual NRAs would be well-advised to consider continuing to analyse these deleted markets in their own Member States until they have evidence to confirm that they are fully competitive, including for business users.
